The Big Row
The Big Row
In a nutshell
The Go Live team are extremely proud to have been part of The Big Row, a charity event held in Spitalfields market created to raise money for the renovation of the MV Chauncy Maples, Africa’s oldest motor ship. With the £500,000 raised by the event the MV Chauncy Maples clinic-ship can be completed and vital health services can be provided to villages where there is currently no access via roads.
More information on the charity can be seen at www.thebigrow.org/charity
The Go Live team provided an event management service to Thomas Miller and full production and technical delivery on the event.
Celebrity patrons and hosts for the evening were Katie Derham, Robert Treharne Jones and Angela Rippon, OBE, with entertainment by Japenese drummers Kaikyo Taiko and topped off with a special guest appearance by Bond.
The delivery of the event included the assembly of 45 rowing machines rigged to a racing system, a huge LED wall (to display live footage, videos and images of encouragement from other celebrity patrons, animations of distance rowed), the installation of lighting, sound and video packages, Malawian theming and stewarding, all within a working marketplace. The team managed the onsite registration, designed and created the onscreen content, provided mobile cameramen to be in amongst the rowers and supporters and coordinated the 76 crews taking part in the event.
